Back home

So today I finally came back home! I had gone to Buenos Aires about two weeks ago, and while I did have a great time there, I was missing my family and specially my friend Pompón. This past weekend I participated in another show, and I had a great time. This time around I was luckier, I placed 1st in my class, then I was on a roll and won Best of Breed, Best in Group, and Best in Show. Must have been important, cause they took pictures left and right. Anyhoo, I am back home, and that's what matters.

In Buenos Aires, with friends

I wanted to go to Buenos Aires to get a full health checkup. I want to make sure that my hips and elbows are OK, and that my heart and eyes are sound. Fortunately, after a bunch of tests, everything looks good and so I can stick to having fun, what I do best.

I head out to the house of my friends, Melody and Amy. Since there's another show in a week or so, I will stay with my friends and use the time to finally train a bit!

Needless to say, I am having loads of fun with Amy and Melody!

Santa Fe

I have not been feeling all that great this week. I'm eating Eukanuba, just like in Boston, but it is not sitting well with me so far. Still, ever the optimist, we decide to head to Santa Fe, a city about 200 miles east of Córdoba to participate in a dog show.

Actually, the real reason was for me to meet who's to become my handler, Juan Carlos Pintorelli. I met him and he seems nice, hopefully we'll get along. He tried to train me, but there wasn't much time before I had to go into the ring.

Three judges. Two Canadians and one Argentinian. I placed 2nd in all three rings, in the puppy category of course. Most of all, I had fun.

Meeting my new family...

Oh my God! Argentina is far away! So we were on a plane for about 11 hours, and then we drove for half a day or so! Eventually we made it to Córdoba, the city where my new family lives. We got there late, really late, but I was so excited I would not stop running all over the backyard, trying to get to know every inch of this new place. I certainly have lots of space to play here!

In the morning, I met my family. Two small girls, the guy and his wife. Nice people, even if a bit fresh about this whole dog-owning thing. I have a good feeling about this... I have a nice yard to play, and so far it seems I'll be the king of the land around here...

In addition, not only do I have four new two-legged friends, but I also have one four-legged one, a 3-month old Bichon-Frise named Pompón, and Cookie, a babe six months my junior that visits often. I think I'm gonna like it here!

The day after, and an upset stomach

So in this guy's brother's house there's a sun room. It's kind of small, but they've cleaned up all the furniture and that's where I am supposed to stay. It's pouring outside and so there's not much chance of me going out to play.

There's a couple of beautiful kids. The older one is a bit scared of me, being I am a bit wicked and all. Hey, don't forget that at 8 months old I am no grown-up either!

The young one, on the other hand, was totally fearless. She would sit by the sliding door and watch me go crazy to try and come out of there and play.

If it all sounds like fun and games, well... think again! As it turns out the guy that is bringing me to Argentina is either confused, or he's missing a few marbles up there, if you know what I mean. Let me explain... I usually eat Eukanuba, but this guy went to a store and got me some Royal Canin. Being the voracious eater that I am, I couldn't care less and I wolfed every bit of food this guy gave me...

Oh my! Those pretty white tiles in the sun room! Let's just say that we needed major artillery to clean up the mess I made...

In any event, that Saturday afternoon were were off to JFK to catch a plane to Buenos Aires...

My journey begins...

Boy was it raining! It's rained forever. Julie groomed me as today is when this crazy family is picking me up. Something about going to Argentina for a few years... If I only knew where Argentina is! Oh well, I'm sure there'll be things to chew and messes to make there as well.

I waited in the rain, expectant... Truth be told, I was hoping I would nail a treat or two, given this much hoopla.... So this guy showed up. Kind of uptight I thought. He wanted to see my family, so everybody came out to play... In the rain! Boys and girls... Speaking of which, there is this cute 1-yr old, that I've got my eye on... Her name is Victoria... She's a couple of months my senior, but I think I can muster the courage...

After a few minutes of play, since the rain was pouring, the guy had to go so inside we went, a bit more grooming for me, time for a couple of snapshots, saying our goodbyes, and off we went.

We drove for what was like a day, but it was more like one hour, to the guy's brother's house, where we were to spend the night, as the following day we were to travel all the way to Argentina which, still not knowing where exactly it is, I sense it's far...
